Waste management in Georgia is governed by the Waste Management Code of Georgia and relevant subordinate acts. The Code includes paper and cardboard among biodegradable waste and establishes a waste-management hierarchy that prioritizes prevention, reuse and recycling. Requirements for a specific operation depend on the waste type and the activity involved.
